The Phlebotomy Technician Program is a 7-8 week in-person course designed to effectively train and educate students in all aspects of basic phlebotomy skills, including the collection of blood specimens and venipuncture. The Phlebotomy Technician program is a combination of theory and hands-on training. This program is designed for participants who want to advance their career or are interested in starting a career in allied health professionals to become Phlebotomy technicians. After successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take their national certification exam.

Our phlebotomy program course consists of pre-recorded lectures, power points, study guides, and exams, followed by hours of hands-on in-person classroom skills training. Our students have the option of doing part of the required venipunctures in a facility setting, to simply gain confidence, experience, and knowledge of the medical field.

Equipment to be used during class is all necessary supplies required to draw blood, including artificial arms with veins, and other training devices. This will provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform effectively.

Our experienced instructors will guide you as you learn a variety of blood drawing techniques, safety standards, and other areas such as:

  • HIPAA and Patient's Rights

  • Universal Precautions and Safety

  • Venipuncture with Vacutainers, Butterflies, and Syringes

  • Finger and Heel Sticks

  • Blood and Blood Components

  • Medical Laboratory Terminology

  • Test Tubes – Uses, Additives, and Order of Draw

  • Professionalism

 

Entrance Requirements:

  • Entrance Exam 

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid government I.D. or Driver's License
