EKG

EKG Technician

The CET Program is a 7-8 week in person course designed to effectively train and educate students in all aspects of basic electrocardiogram skills, including the EKG Administration, vital signs collection, and related patient care techniques taught hands-on.  Our program is a combination of lecture and hands-on skills lab.

This program is designed for participants who want to advance their career or are interested in starting a career in the allied health profession to become an EKG Technician. After successful completion of the program, students are eligible to test for their national certification exam.

Our EKG program course consists of pre-recorded lectures, power points, study guides and exams, followed by hours of hands-on in-person skills lab training. We aim to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the technician’s job efficiently

 

This course covers the following key areas and topics: 

  • Detailed anatomy and physiology of the heart 

  • Medical ethics and legal aspects of patient contact 

  • Electrocardiography & 12 lead placement

  • An introduction to the components, function, and proper use of the EKG machine 

  • The normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper lead placement 

 

Course Information:

  • 7-8 week course

  • In Person Class, hands-on skills 

 

Entrance Requirements:​

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Entrance Exam 

  • Valid government I.D. or Driver's License

  • Internet connection and printing capabilities
